A rustic themed bank holiday wedding in the Ribble Valley

Natalie and Hannah got married in April at the spectacular Bashall Barn, which on a working farm in Clitheroe. It was such a happy day and they even managed to get married on the terrace outside over looking the amazing Ribble Valley!

The ceremony

The ceremony was an intimate service in the main hall. The guests were sat on beautiful wooden chairs, in a horse shoe shape, where they were able to watch the couple say their vows with the truly epic backdrop of the hills in the background.The reception was out the wooden terrace at the venue. Nat & Hannah chose Bashall Barn because it has so many options and they just fell in love with it. It was a rustic wedding, which went so well with the styling of the venue.

I love shooting rustic weddings as I love natural elements and fresh flowers. Bashall Barn is set in one of the most stunning areas in Lancashire, it is nestled in the heart of the Ribble Valley and sits on top of a hill which gives great views towards Clitheroe and Whalley.

Entertainment

Danny Finn was their wedding host & DJ for the day, he engaged with everyone there, handing out cards with questions about the couple, and how they knew Hannah & Natalie. Then a game of MRS & MRS was met with huge amounts of laughter and some funny stories about the couple.

Decor

They decorated the venue with bunting and flowers, because it was a spring wedding. Their wedding cake was one of the best I have seen for ages, Nat has a mild obsession for minions and thought the cake would be an ideal way to showcase this, beautiful traditional cake at the front and then when you turned it round it had minions crawling around all over it!!

Food

For dinner they served pizza from a wood fire stove, which was so yummy. The first dance was a good old traditional wedding shuffle, and they finished off the evening with everyone lying around drunk off their tits!!

Memorable Moments

Maddie the youngest dog barked at the most inappropriate moment. “is there anyone here present, know why these 2 people should not be joined in matrimony” barks…everyone laughed.

The Couple

Natalie & Hannah are so chilled, no bridezillas here. They got in touch with me as they knew me through a friend and their enquiry was right up my street. It would be the first time I had shot a wedding at Bashall Barn and I had been dying to shoot a wedding there for ages. They said they wanted a relaxed photographer, and I loved that they were so laid back.
